Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc.® proudly announces the arrival of Royal Wings Aviation Services Co. to the UVglobal Network®. Royal Wings Aviation serves corporate aviation from its main office located in Kuwait City (OKBK). They are the third company in the Middle East region currently to serve corporate aviation under the UVglobal Network® brand, along with National Air Services in Jordan and Z-Aviation Services in Egypt. Royal Wings is a standard member of the UVglobal Network®.

Basel Arrar, President and CEO, founded Royal Wings Aviation with the vision to improve the overall service level and quality of ground handling available in Kuwait. During the Iraqi invasion and subsequent seven month occupation, Kuwait’s aviation infrastructure and airport suffered massive damage and destruction. Modernized during reconstruction, Kuwait International Airport was rebuilt to serve additional new airlines along with a Royal VIP terminal.

Corporate aviation interests still lacked facilities and infrastructure, due in part to low traffic volumes. Today, more corporate operators land in Kuwait for business interests in finance, oil, investment, building, real estate and other ventures. Currently, Kuwait International Airport also serves as a staging area on the military side of the airport for coalition military supplies destined for Iraq. Future airport plans call for a separate general aviation terminal.

Royal Wings Aviation operates an airport office and crew lounge upstairs from the departure level in Terminal 1, as well as a main office located just outside the airport by a ten-minute drive. Corporate aircraft park on a separate ramp called “New Island”, which is away from airline gate parking.

Royal Wings employs a staff of five English-speaking agents who adhere to the standards, procedures and practices of the UVglobal Network.®. As President and CEO, Basel brings 22 years of aviation background to corporate aviation, with his employees offering their own years of aviation knowledge and experience. Together, they offer the full range of corporate aviation services including handling, crew and passenger transportation, catering arrangements, landing and overflight permits, special landing clearances, cargo freight forwarding, and special flight arrangements to Iraq. They can also arrange for visas on arrival for nationals of 35 countries. In a supervisory role, Royal Wings Aviation will oversee aircraft ground support provided by Kuwait Airways for which there has always been a need for enhanced service quality. Their oversight will ensure that a higher standard of service is given which corporate operators expect.

In keeping with the cultural tradition of the region, Royal Wings recognizes the Kuwait weekend starting on Thursday and Friday, with Saturday the first business day of the work week. Royal Wings is open from 0830-1730 Sat-Wed; from 0830-1330 Thursday, and closed on Friday. As a member of the UVglobal Network, Royal Wings remains available 24 hours, 7 days a week.
